                        <title>EV Battery Workforce Challenge team receives new EV van</title>

                        <guid>https://momentum.mohawkcollege.ca/ev-battery-workforce-challenge-team-receives-new-ev-van/</guid><pp:caseid>677607</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<img src="https://content.presspage.com/uploads/1499/0da31dbc-2ac9-44ff-9716-2f28c28c501a/1920_batteryworkforcechallengelogo.jpg?10000"><p><span>The <strong>Mohawk College-McMaster University team in the Battery Workforce Challenge</strong> received a new EV van to use in their projects.&nbsp;</span></p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:left;"><span style="margin:0px;">The Battery Workforce Challenge collegiate competition is a three-year engineering competition that challenges North American universities and their community college partners to design, build, test and integrate an advanced EV battery pack into a Stellantis vehicle. Students learn valuable project management, communications, teamwork and problem-solving skills that will provide them an unparalleled educational experience and ready them for careers in the battery industry.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:left;"><span style="margin:0px;">In May 2024, t</span><span style="text-align:left;">he Mohawk College-McMaster University team placed 4th placed in the overall competition so far and won the award for Best Competition Team – Battery Expo (best use case). </span><span style="margin:0px;">The three-year competition will culminate in 2026, with the winning teams receiving dozens of annual engineering and sponsor-related category awards; $100,000 in industry-provided prize money; and invaluable employment, collaboration, and networking opportunities with industry leaders.</span></p><p><strong>Motorway America - </strong><a href="https://www.motorwayamerica.com/news/stellantis-supplies-12-new-ram-promaster-electric-vans-competition">Stellantis supplies 12 new Ram ProMaster electric vans for competition</a></p>]]></description><category><![CDATA[In the News,New,Featured]]></category>
